Rethinking Play in Early Childhood: A Focused Dialogue with Educators in Invermere, B.C.

June 17th, 2025
6:00–8:00 p.m. MT
Early Years Centre: Lower Level, 926 7th Ave Invermere, B.C., V0A 1K4

This Early Childhood Pedagogist Program professional development focused dialogue invites early childhood education professionals into an engaging conversation about responsive curriculum-making practices.

What do we mean when we talk about play in early childhood education? And how might we begin to think about play differently? Join pedagogists Tracy Barkman and Teresa Smith for a follow-up conversation to the ECPN webinar Playing in the Anthropocene. Together, we’ll revisit ideas from the webinar and think about how play shows up in our work with children. What might play look like when it’s not about preparing for the future, but about being together, noticing the world around us, and imagining new possibilities?

Participants are encouraged to view the original webinar recording at the CCRR or online at ecpn.ca/library (available after June 7) before attending the session.

This is a free event. Light refreshments will be available, and attendees will receive professional development hours.
