We recognize that we are living in difficult times as early childhood educators. In this ECPN Two-Part Conversations Series we considered some of the ethical dilemmas and questions COVID 19 ask of us each day. We invited educators to think about what it means to live/learn well with young children and their families in a pandemic. We acknowledged that this pandemic has made visible the challenges and inequities within the current state of early childhood education.
Adrienne Argent, ECPN postsecondary pedagogist, along with centre directors and educators, led two evenings of dialogue (October 13 and 20-2020) to consider ways to create conditions that ensure health and safety, and remain joyful, lively pedagogical spaces. How might we respond to this pandemic in ways that strengthen our pedagogical commitments and relationships in collective spaces?
Adrienne Argent – In her pedagogist role, whether she is thinking alongside children, educators or early childhood students, Adrienne is always concerned with the co-creation of inventive and evolving pedagogies that are situated and responsive to the times we are currently living within.
